'The Moments' amidst the chaos has a review on the new and innovative magazine  Urban Edge Magazine. I absolutely loved the article as it reminded me of the opening night and the uber chic crowd that graced me with their presence that night. Thank you to Jana Du Plessis for the amazing review and Martin Venter for the images. The exhibition ends tomorrow , and so my last post will be my second last post for the year.

After a crazy day filled with lectures , I went to meet up with Yang about my collaboration with Doepelganger. We decided that we will have the event end of October. The ideas for the gig are insane and  I am keen for it to come to life. Once things are confirmed , I will be able to be more detailed about the event and the concept behind it.

On the day of my opening , I had the lovely and talented duo Lehlonolo Molapo and Wandile Mnguni shooting my documentary about 131 days and 'The Moments' amidst the chaos.  I will be meeting up with Wandile on Friday to see what they have done so far , and discuss the post production. These two are amazing and have made my vision possible. My objective with the documentary is to screen it next month , closer to the closing of the exhibition. Lets kill it.

I went to the gallery today for the first time since the opening. My best friend Noxolo Mafu is in town , and so she asked that I go with her to go view the collection. The two week break from the gallery and all the exhibition admin was much needed. It was great visiting the place again.

Today I had the craziest day. At 11:30 , after lectures , I met up with the Glamour team at the Buchanan Studios in Buchanan Square in Woodstock for the 'Signature Style' shoot. The shoot is for the December issue.  I went in with my Mom and little Sister , Solitha. As I walked in , I was immediately approached by Melissa Twigg , the features writer who was so welcoming. She introduced me to the team . I went into the make-up room where I met Louise Bingham , the make-up artist who is talented , friendly and the woman who introduced me to the concealer of my dreams. She refused to apply foundation because she happened to think I didnt need it. However , she gave me great tips on the best foundation , concealer and powder to use for my skin. The shoot was fun , short and sweet. Photographer Lar Leslie was patient and knew what she wanted , which made my job easier. I really struggle being the one photographed , as I have gotten used to being behind the camera.  I had fun.

I have just remembered that 'The Moments' amidst the chaos is part of Creative Week Cape Town 2011. My exhibition has been selected as an event for the 14th September. I am extremely exhausted , and somewhat lazy to organize something for the 14th. I have decided on not hosting anything on the 14th and completely allowing myself to recover from this semester. I wish I could be at the gallery on that day , but unfortunately I have a lot on my plate.

I went to Doepelganger's Fatback soul sessions on Thursday ( which was last night) in Long Street. The ladies played a sick set as usual , and I got to thank them personally for the amazing mix-tape they provided for the opening of my exhibition. It was a great seeing people admire the collection of work and most importantly sway their bodies to the music at the opening.  Last night was great , as I got to speak to some of the girls about an exciting project that we would like to collaborate and bring to life. I am looking forward to meeting up with them and make it happen.

I received a call from Helen Herimbi from the Cape Argus. She asked me a range of questions about the exhibition, but wanted to know how I felt after everything was done. She was extremely friendly and immediately made me feel comfortable, as a result I began to tell her information that she didn't need to know. That just proves that she is great at her job.  I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to her, and the article which was in the Cape Argus 8 September 2011 issue. Thank you Helen and thank you Martin Venter for the image!

One of my favourite blog's , Skattie ,what are you wearing? , Malibongwe Tyilo came through to show support and love at the opening.

Despite his busy schedule , with events lined up everyday that must be attended , he managed to come and take some pictures of the extremely stylish guests that night. It was great finally meeting Mali , and not just bumping into him for a quick snap. He is lovely.  Congratulations on receiving the Marie Claire Fashion Blogger of the year 2011 award. You deserved it!

I met Michelle Oberholzer two years ago, when she was taking street fashion pictures in Long Street. She asked to take a picture of my outfit at the time, and after that our paths just kept on crossing.
She was one of the first guests to arrive at the opening of my exhibition. It was great seeing her again after such a long time. Despite her busy schedule, she managed to spend as much time as possible, viewing the pieces and taking pictures of some of my guests. She captured Anthea Duce, Asanda Sizani, Kwena Baloyi, Sethu Mangcu and Caitlin Hoogervorst's stylish outfits.
