Biography

Anelisa Mangcu is a 19 year old Cape-Townian Vega student. An avid all-round creative, Anelisa has experience in visual art, photography, performing arts, social media and writing. She regards herself, above all, as “a child, a sister and an artist”.

Anelisa Mangcu’s experience and expertise is most notably in photography. Anelisa’s debut solo photographic art exhibition “The Moments Amidst the Chaos”, which ran in September of 2011, cemented her as a young, emerging and promising artist. The pieces in the exhibition were distinguishably works of Anelisa’s by the continuous use of rich colour and texture. The exhibition attracted a lot of local social media attention, and countless blog features. Previous photographic experience leading up to the debut exhibition include a 2010 collaborative exhibition at the Exposure Gallery and leadership positions as both the Head of the Photographic Society (Exposure) and Head of the Photographic Team for the School Magazine during her High School career.

Anelisa’s personal blogging experience is notable, with two blogs that she launched in 2011, “131 days”, a build-up blog chronicling the journey to her photographic exhibition and the image-driven men’s fashion “Perfectly Tailored” tumblr blog, which have both attracted the attention of both urban social media consumers and gurus in their humble beginnings.

Having always been interested and enthusiastic about fashion, Anelisa has been recognised for her own personal style. Features in both the Glamour magazine and DRUM magazine for her personal sense of fashion have cemented her as a budding mini-fashionista in her own right. Anelisa has also been featured as a guest-photographer of the “street style” section for Elle magazine’s website.

Now, with her experience in photography and her sharp eye for all things beautiful, Anelisa has decided to venture into fashion and focus her eye on men’s wear for the suave and sophisticated perfectly tailored man. With the introductory stylistic-inspirational photo-blog “Perfectly Tailored”, partnered by the ever-suave Siyabonga Ngwekazi, Anelisa has now created this blog, “Perfectly Tailored For Men”, which fuses her photographic flair and delineation of colour and texture with her tasteful eye for men’s fashion.
