9 September 2011

I went to Doepelganger's Fatback soul sessions on Thursday ( which was last night) in Long Street. The ladies played a sick set as usual , and I got to thank them personally for the amazing mix-tape they provided for the opening of my exhibition. It was a great seeing people admire the collection of work and most importantly sway their bodies to the music at the opening.  Last night was great , as I got to speak to some of the girls about an exciting project that we would like to collaborate and bring to life. I am looking forward to meeting up with them and make it happen.

Day 112 . 12 .08.2011

I am so excited about my guest speaker. He is someone who has been in the industry for years, an amazing ambassador for South Africa through the arts and more importantly, someone who has known me for a long time. I think I will keep the guest speakers name a secret, as I want my guests to have something to look forward too.

Last night I bummed into Makosha ‘Emkay’ Maja of the dynamic Doepelganger, at Fatback soul in Long Street. We spoke briefly about an exciting project and the mixtape that she is making for the opening which will also be used for the documentary. I am meeting up with her tomorrow to discuss it all, the mix tape, the collaborative and our vision. I am highly looking forward to it.
